Children & Orthodontics: Guiding Your Child’s Smile

Malocclusions, or misalignments of the teeth, can be detected as early as 2 to 3 years of age. Early identification allows us to take steps that may reduce the need for more extensive orthodontic treatment later on. Our team can help assess and address these issues, setting your child on the path to a healthy, aligned smile.

Making Kids Comfortable With Dentistry

We understand that children have unique needs and sensitivities, different from those of adults. While advanced technology and skilled doctors are crucial, children also need special care to feel safe and comfortable. Our team combines the best of both worlds, ensuring that your child receives the highest-quality treatment in a friendly, supportive environment.

Our dentists have extensive experience with children and teens, making dental visits enjoyable for all. By helping kids feel comfortable at the dentist from a young age, we instill the knowledge and habits they need for a lifetime of excellent dental health.

Stages of Orthodontic Care

Stage I: Early Treatment (Ages 2–6)

At this age, we focus on underdeveloped dental arches, early loss of baby teeth, and addressing habits like thumb-sucking. Early treatment can often be very effective, reducing or eliminating the need for future orthodontic procedures.

Stage II: Mixed Dentition (Ages 6–12)

This stage begins when the permanent front teeth and first molars come in. Treatments address jaw misalignment and realignment of new permanent teeth. Since children’s tissues are highly responsive, this is an ideal time for orthodontic care if needed.

Stage III: Adolescent Dentition (Ages 12+)

During this stage, we focus on the development of the final bite relationship as the remaining permanent teeth emerge. This is a key period for creating a lasting, aligned smile.

We’re here to work with your child through all these developmental stages. Schedule an orthodontic consultation today, and let’s get started on a journey to a confident, healthy smile!
